From 19th to 21st of April the employees of the Dalj Elementary School participated on the second study trip organized and visited three interesting destinations - from the snowy peaks of Velebit to the sunny Vodice and Šibenik - the House of Velebit and the Memorial Centers "Faust Vrančić" and " Nikola Tesla".

Velebit House is an educational and information centre in the village of Krasno in the Northern Velebit National Park. With the modern, interactive and attractive layout of the centre located on several floors and with an excellent expert guide, participants got to know the climate, types of habitats, geology and cultural heritage of Velebit, and by entering the cave through a special "elevator" they could get an idea of what underground research looks like.

The memorial centre "Faust Vrančić" on the island of Prvić in the Šibenik archipelago is dedicated to the great Croatian visionary, inventor, linguist, philosopher, diplomat and polymath (he was an expert in several scientific fields). Among his most significant achievements are the first dictionary of the Croatian language and the work Machinae novae (“New Device”), and other various inventions and devices, among which the most famous is the design of the Flying Man (Homo volans, lat.) with a rectangular parachute structure.

In the "Nikola Tesla" Memorial Centre in Smiljan, perticipants had the opportunity to improve their knowledge about Tesla, but also learn something new through various interactive content. In Nikola Tesla's Birthplace, they looked at Tesla's notes, records, photos and inventions, in the replica of Tesla's test station from Colorado Springs, they participated in a presentation of the wireless transmission of electricity from Tesla's coil, and in the multimedia centre they watched a documentary film about Tesla's life. They visited the parish church of Saints Peter and Paul, where Tesla's father served, and saw a replica of a turbine without blades in the Vaganac stream. Everything learned and experienced will be inspiration and motivation for continuing activities in the KOZMOS project.
